How to Make the Perfect Rice + 10 Rice Recipes

We’re pretty sure that if we looked in your pantry right now, we’d find rice. Rice is a versataile grain that can be used in so many different kinds of dishes. From curry to soup to simple salmon and even breakfast, rice is an easy ingredient that helps make a hearty meal.

Wondering how to make the perfect rice? Our co-founder, Catherine, has perfected her rice-making technique over the years.

  1. Boil two cups of water.
  2. Add one cup of rinsed rice and stir.
  3. Bring the water back up to a boil with lots of bubbles, stir again, and cover the pot.
  4. Turn the stove to simmer and let it cook for 40 minutes.
  5. When the 40 minutes is up, open the pot and make sure all the water is absorbed. Your rice should be really flully and look like snow!
