If there’s one thing that can disrupt an already busy parent’s life, it’s a sick kid! There are plenty of things you can do to alleviate the anxiety of cold season like washing your hands regularly and keeping away from sick friends and family, but the best way is making sure you put tons of immune-boosting foods in your kids’ body.
No bragging right and I shouldn’t say this out loud cause it’s basically jinxing myself, but my kids almost never get sick and I attribute it to smoothies. Adding a plethora of nutrient-dense foods to a blender and making a drink that’s easy to suck down from 1 and up is my secret weapon during the months when colds can bog kids down. This immune-boosting smoothie is a game-changer when your kids aren’t feeling their best and you need to get them back to health quickly! P.S. It works great for adults too!
Immune Boosting Very Berry Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 1/2 inch piece fresh tumeric, peeled
- 1 date
- 1/4 cup yogurt, we liek Greek
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 handful fresh spinach
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 tsp bee pollen
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 cup milk of choice
- 2 tbsp almonds, soaked
- Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
- Pour into a tall glass and serve!
