Make your life easier with organic, farm-fresh family meals, ready in 30 minutes or less.
Set the oven on to 350˚ F and remove the butter from the refrigerator to soften. Note, the oven is only being used for toasting the buttered buns. If you prefer not to butter the buns, you can use your toaster instead. Remove the core from the tomato, thinly slice and set aside until ready to serve.
Lightly coat the bottom of a large skillet or sauté pan with oil over medium heat. Add the hot dogs to the pan and cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until heated through, shaking the pan every few minutes to brown them evenly.* Remove the hot dogs and set aside to cool for a minute. If desired, set on paper towels to absorb any excess liquid.
Lightly butter the inside of the buns and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes or until the buns are warmed through.
Spread a little mustard, ketchup, and relish on the bun, followed by a tomato slice, some melted sweet onions, and a slice of pickle, and/or your other favorite condiments. Top each bun with a hot dog and a half and serve alongside the German potato salad and the slaw. Enjoy!
