Banana Waffles are the easiest weekend (or weekday) breakfast or brunch recipe you’ll ever make—light, fluffy, naturally sweet, and perfect for freezing and reheating.

Ingredients

▢ 1 cup all purpose flour
▢ 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
▢ 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
▢ 2 teaspoons baking powder
▢ 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
▢ 3/4 cup milk
▢ 1 large egg
▢ 1 tablespoon honey
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢ 2 ripe bananas, mashed

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, whole wheat flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, honey, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are fine.
  • Pour approximately 1/2 cup batter into a greased waffle iron and cook for 3–4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with desired toppings.

Notes

  • To Freeze & Reheat: Cool completely, store in freezer bags, and reheat in a toaster until warm and crisp.
  • Do not overmix batter to keep waffles light and fluffy.
  • Adjust sweetness with additional honey or toppings if desired.
