Cheesy Green Hummus is a quick, creamy dip that adds a little extra color and flavor to snack time. Fresh spinach blends with chickpeas, tahini, Parmesan, lemon, and garlic for a smooth hummus that’s easy to make and perfect for dipping or spreading.

It’s a simple way to add more greens to a family favorite, and it works just as well for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, or easy appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup packed fresh spinach
  • 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons tahini paste
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  • Add the spinach, garbanzo beans, tahini, Parmesan, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to a food processor.
  • Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if desired.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Adjust the texture: Add a small splash of water or extra olive oil if a thinner hummus is preferred.
  • Make it extra smooth: Process for an additional minute or two, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Serve it up: Pair with pita bread, crackers, cucumber slices, carrots, bell peppers, or celery.
  • Try it as a spread: Use it in sandwiches, wraps, or toast for an easy flavor boost.
