Ginger Lemon Honey Tea is a warm, soothing drink made with fresh ginger, lemon juice, and honey. It’s simple to prepare and perfect for chilly days or whenever you need a comforting cup of tea.

Ingredients

  • ▢ 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
  • ▢ 2 cups water
  • ▢ Juice of 1 lemon
  • ▢ 1–2 tablespoons honey, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the ginger into thin coins.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring the water and ginger to a boil.
  3. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5–10 minutes to allow the ginger to steep.
  4. Alternatively, divide the ginger slices between 2 mugs, pour hot water over them, and gently bruise the softened ginger with a spoon after a minute or two.
  5. Remove the ginger slices if desired, or leave them in for a stronger flavor.
  6. Stir the lemon juice and honey into the tea until the honey is dissolved.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust Sweetness: Add more or less honey to suit your taste.
  • Stronger Ginger Flavor: Allow the ginger to steep longer for a more pronounced ginger taste.
  • Fresh Lemon Recommended: Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides the best flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat gently before serving.
  • Kid-Friendly Tip: Allow the tea to cool thoroughly before serving to children.
  • Optional Additions: Add a pinch of cinnamon, a slice of turmeric, or a few mint leaves for extra flavor.
