Paper Bag Popcorn is the easiest homemade snack ever! With just popcorn kernels and a brown paper bag, you can make fresh, crunchy popcorn in minutes—perfect for movie nights, lunchboxes, or after-school snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup organic popcorn kernels
  • 1 brown paper lunch bag

Instructions

  • Place the popcorn kernels into the brown paper lunch bag.
  • Fold the top of the bag down twice to seal securely. Do not use staples or tape.
  • Place the bag upright in the microwave.
  • Microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, watching carefully.
  • When the popping slows to about 2–3 seconds between pops, stop the microwave.
  • Carefully open the bag and pour the popcorn into a bowl.
  • Add your favorite toppings like salt, melted butter, cinnamon sugar, parmesan cheese, or ranch seasoning.

Notes

  • Fold Carefully: A tight fold helps trap steam and pop the kernels evenly.
  • Don’t Walk Away: Microwave popcorn can burn quickly, so stay nearby while it cooks.
  • Batch Size Matters: Stick to about 1/4 cup kernels per bag for best results.
  • Fun Flavor Ideas: Try taco seasoning, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, or drizzle with chocolate for a sweet version!
