Peanut Butter and Jelly Skewers turn a classic lunch into a fun, kid-friendly snack that’s perfect for lunchboxes, parties, or after-school treats. Bite-sized sandwich shapes paired with fresh fruit make this familiar favorite feel a little more special without adding extra work.

They’re easy to customize with favorite breads, spreads, and fruits, making them a simple recipe the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices favorite sandwich bread
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or preferred spread
  • 4 teaspoons favorite jelly, jam, or fruit preserves
  • Fresh berries, grapes, or banana slices
  • Bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Spread one slice of bread with peanut butter (or another favorite spread).
  2. Spread another slice with jelly, jam, or fruit preserves.
  3. Press the slices together to make a sandwich.
  4. Use small cookie cutters, such as hearts, stars, or circles, to cut the sandwich into bite-sized shapes.
  5. Thread the mini sandwiches onto bamboo skewers, alternating with fresh fruit.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Customize freely: Swap peanut butter for almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter. Use any favorite jam, jelly, or fruit preserves.
  • Cut after assembling: Making the full sandwich first creates cleaner shapes and minimizes waste. The leftover crusts make a great snack.
  • Lunchbox-friendly: Trim bamboo skewers to fit bento-style lunchboxes before assembling.
  • Mix up the fruit: Berries, grapes, banana slices, melon, kiwi, and apple chunks all work well depending on what’s in season.
