Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup brown rice syrup or corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cups raw pecans
- 1 unbaked pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a pie dish with the unbaked pie crust.
2. Make the Filling
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt.
- Mix until smooth.
3. Add Pecans
- Stir in pecans until evenly coated.
4. Assemble
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
5. Bake
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
6. Cool
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Don’t overbake: The center should have a slight jiggle—it will firm up as it cools.
- Cool completely: Essential for clean slices and proper texture.
- Use quality pecans: Fresh pecans give the best flavor and crunch.
