Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons honey
-
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
-
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
-
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or cider vinegar
-
4 salmon fillets, skin removed
-
Toasted sesame seeds, for serving
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced ginger, and vinegar until well combined.
2. Marinate the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets in a resealable bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag and gently turn it to coat the salmon.
Let the salmon marinate for 15 minutes.
3. Prepare the Broiler
Set the oven to broil.
Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the marinated salmon on top. Discard the remaining marinade.
4. Broil the Salmon
Place the baking sheet 4–6 inches from the broiler.
Broil for 7–9 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
5. Finish and Serve
Sprinkle the salmon with toasted sesame seeds and serve warm.
Notes
-
Keep the marinade simple: The honey, soy sauce, ginger, and vinegar bring plenty of flavor without a long ingredient list.
-
Watch the broiler: Broilers cook quickly, so keep an eye on the salmon toward the end of cooking.
-
Use similar-sized fillets: Pieces with similar thickness will cook more evenly.
-
Don’t reuse the marinade: Since it has been in contact with raw fish, discard any leftover marinade.
