Waldorf Salad is a classic, refreshing dish that combines crisp apples, crunchy celery, juicy grapes, and toasted walnuts in a creamy, lightly sweet dressing. It’s simple to prepare and perfect for holiday meals, fall gatherings, or light lunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup celery, chopped (about 3 stalks)

  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cubed

  • 1 cup grapes, halved or quartered depending on size

  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries, chopped

  • 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or vegan mayonnaise)

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 3 tablespoons orange juice

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Salad Base

In a large bowl, combine the celery, apples, grapes, dried cranberries, and walnuts.

2. Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, orange juice, honey, and kosher salt until smooth.

3. Combine

Pour the dressing over the fruit and nut mixture.

4. Toss and Serve

Stir gently until all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing. Serve immediately or chilled.

Notes

Make Ahead:
You can prepare the salad base and dressing separately ahead of time. Mix them together just before serving to maintain freshness and crunch.

Prevent Apple Browning:
If cutting apples ahead of time, toss them lightly with lemon or orange juice to keep them from browning.

Storage:
Store leftover Waldorf salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.

Add Protein:
To make the salad more filling, add grilled chicken, turkey, or tofu for extra protein.
