Cool off with this easy 3-ingredient Watermelon Slushie! Made with frozen watermelon, fresh lime juice, and ice, this refreshing drink is naturally sweet, icy, and perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • ▢ 1 small seedless watermelon
  • ▢ Juice of 1 lime
  • ▢ 1 handful ice (more or less depending on desired texture)

Instructions

  1. Remove the rind from the watermelon and cut the flesh into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes in a large bowl or freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4–5 hours, or overnight.
  3. Add the frozen watermelon, lime juice, and ice to a blender.
  4. Blend until smooth and slushy. If needed, use a tamper or stop the blender occasionally to push the watermelon toward the blades.
  5. Continue blending until the mixture reaches a creamy slushie consistency.
  6. Serve immediately in bowls or cups with a spoon or straw.

Notes

  • Blender Tip: If your blender does not include a tamper, pause blending occasionally and use a spatula to push the ingredients toward the blades.
  • Customize the Flavor: Add fresh mint leaves, strawberries, or a splash of coconut water for fun variations.
  • Adjust the Citrus: Add more or less lime juice depending on how tart you prefer your slushie.
  • Texture Control: Use less ice for a smoother consistency or more ice for a thicker, frostier slushie.
  • Serve Immediately: Slushies have the best texture right after blending.
  • Storage: While best enjoyed fresh, leftovers can be frozen and re-blended before serving.
