Ingredients
- ▢ 1 small seedless watermelon
- ▢ Juice of 1 lime
- ▢ 1 handful ice (more or less depending on desired texture)
Instructions
- Remove the rind from the watermelon and cut the flesh into 1-inch cubes.
- Place the watermelon cubes in a large bowl or freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4–5 hours, or overnight.
- Add the frozen watermelon, lime juice, and ice to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and slushy. If needed, use a tamper or stop the blender occasionally to push the watermelon toward the blades.
- Continue blending until the mixture reaches a creamy slushie consistency.
- Serve immediately in bowls or cups with a spoon or straw.
Notes
- Blender Tip: If your blender does not include a tamper, pause blending occasionally and use a spatula to push the ingredients toward the blades.
- Customize the Flavor: Add fresh mint leaves, strawberries, or a splash of coconut water for fun variations.
- Adjust the Citrus: Add more or less lime juice depending on how tart you prefer your slushie.
- Texture Control: Use less ice for a smoother consistency or more ice for a thicker, frostier slushie.
- Serve Immediately: Slushies have the best texture right after blending.
- Storage: While best enjoyed fresh, leftovers can be frozen and re-blended before serving.
