Ingredients
- 1 small seedless watermelon
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 handful ice (more or less depending on desired texture)
Instructions
- Cut the rind off the watermelon and slice it into 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a large bowl or on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 4–5 hours, or up to overnight.
- Add the frozen watermelon cubes, lime juice, and ice to a blender.
- Using a tamper (if your blender has one), press the watermelon down toward the blades while blending until fully combined and smooth with a thick, slushy texture.
- If you don’t have a tamper, blend in short bursts and stop to press the mixture down with a spatula as needed.
- Spoon into bowls or pour into cups and serve immediately.
Notes
- No High-Speed Blender?
If your blender doesn’t come with a tamper, simply pause and stir as needed to help everything blend smoothly. - Adjust the Texture:
Add more ice for a thicker slushie or reduce the ice for a smoother consistency. - Try Variations:
Add a handful of fresh mint for a refreshing twist or a splash of coconut water for extra hydration. - Adjust the Lime:
Start with the juice of one lime and add more if you prefer a tangier flavor. - Serve Immediately:
Slushies are best enjoyed right after blending for the perfect icy texture.
