- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 avocados
- 1 small lime
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 6 slices cheese
- Burger buns
- 1 tomato, sliced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine:
- Ground beef
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Worcestershire sauce
- Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into patties about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.
- Cook the burgers for about 3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
- Top each burger with a slice of cheese and cook for 1 additional minute until melted.
- While the burgers cook, make the guacamole:
- Scoop avocado flesh into a bowl
- Add lime juice, remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and cilantro
- Mash until creamy with a few chunks remaining
- Assemble the burgers:
- Place tomato slices on the bottom buns
- Add cheeseburgers
- Top with a generous spoonful of guacamole
- Finish with top buns
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use ripe avocados for the creamiest guacamole.
- Pepper jack, cheddar, or Monterey Jack cheese all work well.
- Toasted buns add extra texture and flavor.
- Add lettuce, onions, or jalapeños for extra toppings.
