Sunshine in a Glass
Bright, golden, and bursting with tropical flavor, this Mango Spiced Smoothie is a total mood-lifter. Its sunny yellow color is enough to make anyone smile, and the taste is just as cheerful. Mango’s natural sweetness pairs beautifully with warming spices, creating a creamy, vibrant blend that feels a little unexpected in the best way possible. It’s the perfect way to start the day on a bright note.
What You’ll Need
- Frozen Mango Chunks: For that signature tropical sweetness and a thick, frosty texture.
- Frozen Banana: Adds extra creaminess and a hint of natural sweetness.
- Milk of Choice: Dairy, almond, or coconut milk all work perfectly here.
- Turmeric: Our go-to inflammation fighter that adds that brilliant golden hue.
- Cinnamon: For a cozy, sweet-and-spicy boost.
- Optional: A pinch of black pepper (to help your body absorb the turmeric!) or a drizzle of honey.
How to Make It
- Load the Blender: Toss the frozen mango, banana, turmeric, and cinnamon into your blender.
- Add Your Liquid: Pour in your milk of choice.
- Blend until Silky: Whiz on high until the color is a vibrant, uniform gold and the texture is perfectly smooth.
- Serve: Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately while it’s cold and bright.
Get the Kids Involved
Smoothies are a great way to introduce kids to new spices like turmeric in a way that feels fun and approachable.
- Ages 3–5: Let them help “hunt” for the golden mango chunks in the freezer or push the start button on the blender.
- Ages 6–9: Have them measure out the cinnamon and turmeric—they’ll love seeing how a tiny bit of spice changes the color of the whole drink!
- Ages 10+: Let them experiment with the “spice level”—do they want an extra dash of cinnamon or maybe a tiny pinch of ginger for more zing?
Make It Weeknight-Friendly
- Shortcut Option: Buy pre-frozen mango chunks to skip the peeling and dicing. It makes morning prep a breeze!
- The Golden Trick: If you’re worried about turmeric staining your blender or counter, just give them a quick rinse with warm, soapy water immediately after use.
- Make-Ahead: Portion your mango, banana, and spices into freezer bags. In the morning, all you have to do is add milk and blend.
- Upgrade Move: Add a scoop of Greek yogurt for extra protein or a tablespoon of hemp seeds for some healthy fats to keep everyone full until lunch.
Serve & Savor
This smoothie is a fantastic afternoon pick-me-up or a quick breakfast on the go. It’s cheerful, nourishing, and just a little out of the ordinary—exactly what a busy morning needs.
